Build A School operates to help improve the lives of children now and for the future. We have diversified our objectives to allow us to target the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) set out by the United Nations. These 8 goals were set out to help galvanise efforts to focus on the core problems faced by the world’s poorest – by 2015.
The eight Millennium Development Goals are:

Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger
Achieve universal primary education
Promote gender equality and empower women

Grieve Massa is Build A School Manager for Malawi and he keeps busy overseeing projects and working with local communities. Here’s a typical day for Grieve as he runs operations…

7am
Early start for me, tea to get me going and then into Lilongwe to meet a builder.
8am
I discuss the availability of cement with our contractor and then off to the bank.
8.30am
Money has come from the UK and I sign off the cash with our accountant. As usual, the queues are long in the bank but I’m soon on my way.

Build A School started work in Malawi and is working hard to establish Tickbird, a sustainable living visitor centre open to adults and children. We also work with the UK Department for International Development by providing additional classrooms to Malawi’s most needed communities.
Build A School also partners organisations in school build programmes in India and the Philippines.
